Shawn Yarnell

With a degree in business economics and a background in design, Shawn Yarnell designed the costumes for the “Tot Spot” at the Discovery Museum in Sausalito, CA, designed a line of children’s clothes under the label “Cole et Colette,” and designed window displays for stores in Santa Barbara, CA. Shawn has spent the last 25 years studying art though city & community colleges and universities with artists such as Chester Arnold, Jack Scott, and Tebby George. She has also attended numerous workshops with such varied artists as Vitus Shell, Milt Kobayashi and others.  Shawn first honed her skills in figurative sculpture and received accolades for this work from influential gallery owners (such as Donna Gray of Seager Gray Gallery in Mill Valley, CA). Her oil paintings are mostly representational, though sometimes loosely, and are on a variety of substrates. She has received awards and shown her work in museums, exhibits, stores and galleries in Northern CA, online and in Indiana. Shawn enjoys sculpting with clay, painting with oils and collaging with collected artifacts from around the globe. Shawn currently lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area.
